Hi Holly Am so sorry to hear you lost Tang. I haven't been online for a while no computer got back in April this year. And this on Cataholic blog that Tang was gone. I still go to CoolCyberCats but it is pretty quite there now. I have lost Earnhardt in 2010 and Belly in 2013. But have had other join me. Holly, thanks for stopping by the boys' blog. I'm sorry your mom's not in a good nursing home, I've heard stories, certainly seen lots of news reports about the kinds of things that go on in them. I imagine it's much the same in the U.S. as it is here in Canada: Demand far exceeds available spaces, resources, etc.
My step-dad was in hospital for 7 weeks after his "major TIA", then went to a private facility for about 2 weeks before he fell and broke his left hip. (He had broken his right several years ago.) So he's been back in hospital recovering from surgery -- he was admitted two weeks ago, had the surgery 10 days ago. The stroke increased his dementia significantly, but something has happened in the past two days so that he's not at all lucid (at least he was lucid some of the time prior to this), and he's in a really, really bad way. There's nothing left of the "Harry" we knew and to be honest, the kindest thing would be for him to pass quietly. Unfortunately life isn't always kind.
So you have my good thoughts for your mom and for you, and for your healing too. Take good care.
Thank you so much for your words of kindness when we lost our poor Julie, we know you know how hard her disease is and how hard it is to watch their decline, knowing what the end will be. It was so comforting to hear from you. We're sorry it's taken so long to respond but our mom was so upset. Your Tang looks like such a bright eyed sweet kitty, we're sure he will always be in your heart. Headbonks and purrs!
