Purrz and prayers worked!

Thank you furends.....Setzer had a very surprising turn around today. The Vet called around 7pm and asked us to come in to see if Setzer was acting normal. He was and boy were we amazed. Last night we were dreading a call about Setzer but tonight he is HOME!!! He hasn't eaten yet but we are hopeful, being home, he will try eating again. They did give him food in a syringe twice and he did not puke so we hope he will try eating soon. It seems that he is very tired, he is resting where before he was hiding and pacing around. When he is back to full health and has a kidney and liver test he will be getting the thyroid tumor radiated to kill it and he has to stay at the Vets for 3 to 4 days. After that he will no longer need his thyroid medication. I am exhausted so off to bed.........thanks again, I will update later tomorrow.=^Y^=Holly

I am so relieved that Setzer has improved so much. I am continuing to send him lots of purrs - he still has to be treated for his thyroid tumor! I know he will recover soon with all our help and support.

Holly, this is great news. And super that he'll have the I-131 done. I had wanted it for Annie, but it's not done in our area and would have meant travel plus a 7 to 10 day stay at the vet hospital (laws are different here in Canada). But I think I would remortgage the house to do it if one the boys ever becomes hyper-t (though I hope not).

I do know some cats are hypo-t (underactive) afterward, either short-term (usually) or longer term (rarely), but that's more easily treatable, less of a health issue.

Good luck! Fingers and paws crossed, lots of purrs from the boys.

Excellent news! I read the comment on the Cat Blogosphere site about Setzer being sick and was gladly surprised when I came here and read of his improvement. What great news. What could have been the trouble? No doubt you are guarded against a relapse but this is a change we were hoping for. Continued good luck!

That is so darn exciting. So glad Setzer is home now. He probably is tired from being in the vets. Great news. Thanks for letting us know. Take care. More purrs for Setzer.
