It's been a few crazy weeks here but things are finally smoothing out. Our Grammom is feeling better and not in so much pain. Her visiting Nurse finally signed off and her Therapist has one or two visits left.
We have snow...it was fun watching the flakes fall.
Notice I am on top of our scratching post.....on a nice new padded perch, it was from Santa.........I am lovin' it!!

Ah oh, Mom's candles are going out....see I can check on everything from here!

This is my favorite toy from Sammy, Miles and Nicky Meezer, our Secret Santa. Mom put our photo's up on the Secret Paws Blog site.

I can pull the birdie uuuuuuup by the stretchy thing and grab it.

Also, as you can see....I got another collar! It has fish eating food in one direction or fish blowing bubbles the other way. Ha.........and I thought Mommy just put it on me upside down, silly me!!!

ICE, "Since the Boyz did not experience Snowtober outside, I will show you what it was like to have a snowstorm in October."

"It started around 8am on the 29th of October. The flakes were big, wet and began to add up very fast!"

"Mom took me out several times while she went to the barn to get heaters in case we lost power..........by noon, we lost all power so Dad set up the small generator. Dad had a supply of gas to last a few days in the generator. We still had cable so Mom was watching the Good Witch Movies on the Hallmark channel. By the third movie, the Good Witch's Gift, the Cable went out.....Mommy was NOT happy at all! She was looking forward to the Good Witch's marathon all month!!!!!!

"We had several inches in just a few hours! Dad and Boomer had to gas up the generator every 4 hours!! Finally by Monday night it got brighter, our power came back.....yeah, except the heater would not come on so the oil guyz came out and finally had it going again. Today, schools are still closed, trees are down on many roads and there are still thousands of homes out of power so we feel lucky to have ours back now. Our internet has been on and off so Mommy had to redo the blog entry a few times....we are hoping it will get through now.....at 1:10am=^Y^=
Mom and Dad are going to look for a larger generator because they are worried it just might be a very snowy winter.........of course they expect everyone else has the same idea!!=^Y^=ICE

Thomas, "I can tell you, it's been crazy here over the last few weeks....of course I started up the mess with sneaking in Mike's room and hiding for 13 hours! When I didn't show up for the dry food shaking bag sound Mom alerted the other humans and the search was on...after 8 hours, Mom notified Home Again and Stray Cat Blues Rescue, where she adopted me. It wasn't until 1:30 am, Mom was outside with ICE still looking and Boomer was walking around the property, Dad call out....."We found him....in Mike's room!!!" I don't know how they thought I got out......it's like Fort Knox here!!! I did enjoy all the huggs though=^Y^=

Days later, Dad started getting chest pains and Boomer got him to the Hospital. They were deciding to do another bypass or angioplasty for a bit and luckily it was the angioplasty.........so.......

4 1/2 days later Dad came home and ICE got sick. After he came home 2 human members moved closer to work. Mom kept watch over the doors so we furkids wouldn't get out of the Family room and Grammom kept Teak and Tang in her room while furniture, clothes and boxes were carried out. Now there are 6 humans to our 8 count furkids...COOL! Ray's room is now becoming an art room for Mike and Mom and she is hoping things will quiet down at least till the Christmas tree goes up because this year I know it's gonna be fun climbing that thing!! Mom said Chey should have warned her about Siamese and their over curiosities!!!!!! Toys...who needs toys when you can play with those curly and fuzzy things in the fake plants!!=^Y^=

ICE, "I want to thank all kitties, woofies and their Mommies and Dads for all the purrz and prayers for me. It was scary being in a big cage with all these other woofies near me for a few days but they had me on calming meds so I wouldn't have a seizure. Ten days after I came home I had a seizure in the familyroom. Mommy calmly talked me through so it only lasted a little over a minute but of course my doctor was called. A couple days later I went to get my staples and stitches out so they also checked my Pheno level and it was 27 and now I take 90mgs Pheno with my breakfast and 90mgs with my dinner everyday. I am also getting Prozyme since I was on 2 antibiotics after my surgery. Mommy keeps giving me extra huggz and kisses and I give them back to her, she really loves all of us...we are all thankful for that!!

ICE, Well, I got my stitches out and was allowed to jump up on Moms bed.........
Can you believe it, Dad got the riding mower stuck because the ground is still very soft from all the rain this fall.......so, he gets the SUV to pull it out........

NOW, the SUV is stuck........really stuck! Mike is out there trying to help DAD get it moving but my guess is the same as Mommies...............He won't get it out till the ground gets hard and cold....or

...get help from my lil friend Gracie's Dad and his big tractor.....AND a very long chain so the heavy Tractor doesn't get stuck too......humans, they can be sooo silly!!!

First, we want to thank all our furend bloggers for purring us through our rough time lately. Dad is feeling better, he had to have an angioplasty on one of his by passes. The morning he came home our woofie, ICE became ill and Mommy had to get him to the Vets fast. Luckily Mommy got him there in plenty of time, he had BLOAT! Since he only eats wet food and his bowls are raised, he wasn't let outside for an hour and a half after his breakfast, Mom was not sure what was his problem until she looked it up on the internet. She then call ICE's doctor and was told to get him right in, the surgeon would be waiting. They took pictures of his bloated belly and told Mommy that the air had to come out and he needed a procedure to keep his tummy and intestines from turning because once a dog bloats it can happen again. Mommy waited till he was through it and then drove home, we could tell she was crying. Poor ICE, it's not bad enough he has seizures, now this has happened. The next day Mommy went over to see him....he was happy to see her but he was very tired. ICE laid on the floor and Mommy sat next to him and put his head on her lap while rubbing his back lightly and talking softly to him for about an hour. He had to stay there for a few days so Mommy visited him many times till he could come home. It cost Mommy a gazillion green papers but this time she got her woofie back! Since we don't have a crate for woofies Mommy had to keep close to ICE and make sure he stayed calm for several days. This Friday he gets his staples out and he has to get his Pheno level checked because yesterday morning he had another seizure. His doctor upped his Pheno meds again so we hope he will not have any more for a long time.

Mommy said his Vet wants him to have his bowls put on the floor and not raised...new intensive research has changed the "raised bowl" thinking for deep chested woofies.

Mommy was always concerned with Luke getting bloat because his dad had suffered with bloat but Luke and OBI never got it and they were twice the size of ICE!

Our Dad is in the Hospital.......

I am on watch for Dad to come home from the Hospital soon. Saturday night he started having chest pains but didn't tell Mommy till morning. Boomer drove our Dad to the Hospital Sunday morning. Monday he had a test done that showed one of his bypassed arteries was blocked. The test also caused him to have a mini stroke......he was seeing double so they changed his meds and he felt better.

First they were going to give him another bypass but then to Dad's relief they decided it would be safer to do a angioplasty so he is having it done Wednesday. Mommy has been on the phone updating his family and friends plus going to the hospital.

Mommy said she doesn't want another year like this one........the end of June, her brother passed in his sleep, ICE had 2 seizures, 2 weeks apart so his meds were made stronger.......shale started showing up in our first water filter, (we have 4 filters) so our well pump had to be checked and brought up higher. In April, Mommy had to get an endoscopy done to enlarge the esophagus ring (Schatzki ring) so she could swallow food normally again. Grammom had another fall but did not brake anything this time, she was just very sore for a couple weeks.

We are purring our lil whiskers out that Dad will be fine and come back soon so we can give him more furry shirts................We will return with an update and hopefully get back to blogging soon...Huggs!!!

Do you know how upset Mommy and Grammom were thinking you were scared outside, especially after dark! That was a bad, bad, thing to do. You better never, ever do that again kid!!!"

"Well don't worry, if I sneak into someplace scary again I will call out to you. I was hungry and really had to PEE!!! Mike turned the light out and then it really got creeeeeepy! I came out and Mike caught me....sorry for the scratches Mike!"

Ty, "Man, you have Mommy wrapped around your paw kid....you could have anything your lil heart desires AND........share it with your favorite bro....YES!!=^Y^=

Finally after 12 hours of searching the house, combing the neighborhood and shaking bags of Thomas's food, he was found hiding in Mike's room which was checked but because his door is always shut due to his collage projects and he didn't come out to his food bag, we believed he wasn't in there. It wasn't until Mike was going to bed that his eye caught that skinny orange striped tail. I was outside with ICE on his last outing and still calling Thomas when my husband called out, "We found him, we have him!" I came running in, scooped him in my arms and cried. All along I kept telling them that I could feel his presence in the house.......you know, Mom and baby connection....and I was right, now very relieved and thankful for all the purrz that brought him out of hiding.....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, SO MUCH!!=^Y^=Holly ( one very happy Mommy!)

Happy Birthday to our brother Tang...We love you!!

November 19th, Mom, Dad and Ray went to "Save the Cats" founder Marny after seeing baby Tang's photo on Pet Finder. Tang's Mom was rescued from a backyard in Philly. Tang and his 2 sisters were born at Marny's home on September 7th 2006.

Tang has always been a very mild mannered and loving boy. He is also a special needs kitty. Tang has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, CH cats are sometimes born to females who have suffered Feline Infectious Enteritis(FIE), Feline Panleukopaenia, Feline Distemper during pregnancy. It is usually only seen in kittens born to feral, stray or unvaccinated cats.

Since Tang does not have the best co-ordination or perception, he has been known to run into walls missing the opened door completely. He so loves to look longingly out the window and dream of big adventures he could take. Maybe not in this lifetime Tang but you are safe and so very loved by your family. Happy 5th Birthday sweetheart and may we be blessed with your love for many more happy years!XOXOXO

It's open season on the wild kibble for as long as we can get away with it!

Unfortunately Mom has great hearing and has caught us before we made it to the kibble! Mom says we are like teenagers after the chips. Well, we still have sometime till our baby brother doesn't need extra food and will be on canned only but till then, we will be watching for the unlocked pantry!!!!

Our newest neighbor had siding damage, we have a stucco concrete house with roof tie downs like they now build in Florida. Dad called all the family that got hit by IRENE and they made it through too...yeah!"

This is the online photo of Me...baby Teak (Sammy) from a rescue group called, SAVE the CATS, the same group where Mommy adopted Tang a couple years earlier.

I was fluffier and very shy.......well I still am a bit shy but not as bad as then. I was still on medication when Mommy picked me up to take me home.

Luke was my favorite woofie and I miss him sooo much.

This is me all grown up and not afraid to come out of Grammom's room to play.

Mommy loves my huge eyes and she says it makes me still look like a kitten. I am happy she checked the groups site and found me!
Guess what, Mommy signed up on a Birman cat rescue. It won't be easy, those cute teddy bear cats go fast! Wuv ya, TEAK

Mommy had fun doodling with our pics.
Friday, Mommy had an Endoscopy, she was having trouble eating. Her lower esophagus had to be dilated and stretched opened. Now, after her throat isn't sore from the procedure, she can swallow her vitamins again! Mommy was very, very upset after OBI passed and not knowing why the Vet could not stop his internal bleeding is still unsolved. Our family was really hit hard with his loss but ICE is helping them cope. He really loves us kitties too=^Y^=

Spring is here and so is "Spring Cleaning!" The humans have been very busy, they are even getting ready to enlarge ICE's dog run. Boxes and bags of stuff from the old house are going to the second hand store. Mommy is hoping to get back on track soon=^Y^=

All pawz up for Lucky Cat Crochet! We totally loved these adorable toyz!!
Mommy ordered them for Valentine's Day.......we had to wait till Toy felt better because he became sick the weekend before Valentine's Day. He was sick at both ends for a few days, Mommy gave him doses of clear Pedialyte every 3 hours and finally he started getting better otherwise he would be going to our Vets. Mommy thinks he got the sickies from Micheal who is still getting over his yuckies:{

Sorry we were away again, our Grammom fell last week. She is very sore but luckily did not break anything this time. Mommy and Dad went out to get her a comfy rocker/glider that also locks in 6 positions with a foot stool. This is the first locking glider Mommy ever saw and it is safer than a rocking chair around us kitties! Grammom is feeling better and loves her new chair. Mommy will take a photo of it with one of us Boyz next post. =^Y^=

Merry Christmas Blogger furends....things have been crazy here for a few weeks. ICE had another seizure so he went to visit our Vet. He had to get stronger pills and mom added Co Q10 to his diet.
Our neighbor lost control of her car, trying to reach back to pick up something her 3 year old daughter dropped. The car spun and then went over an embankment and luckily was stopped by a tree before it went down to the waterfall. It landed upside down but by only a miracle they both survived with cuts and bruises. Mom and Dad helped where they could, things are getting back to normal now. Please drive safely and buckle those seat belts!!!!!!!!!

I like waiting for the train to get close then I run....it's a big train!

We fall asleep watching the train go round and round!

I really love the train. Mom hasn't had a train under the Christmas tree for years. She found this one at BJs and it whistles, rings a bell, chug, chug, chugs and plays Christmas songs. All the adults are acting like kids running the train...whooo...whooo! We wish all our visitor friends a safe and happy holiday season.

ManCat Monday, Cherokee

Our dear Cherokee (KeeKee) crossed over the Bridge, Tuesday, 1:45 pm with the kind help from Dr. Orben. Our Vet came to our home so he went peacefully with his family around him. Through tears and goodbyes his little spirit was set free. Painfully I put these words together, goodbye my sweet Brave boy, you're in my heart forever. Mommy

I remember how many trips I made visiting you at PetSmart because the rescuers were worried after your first adoption failed. Your earlier years were not easy ones as I was told. My persistence won however and after several weeks I brought you home. You soon learned that the other cats were loving and patient in helping you blend in. After two years, five of your new cat family left for the Bridge but they taught you how to love and trust again. We moved to our new home with you, Zipper, Tonka, Nicki, also Luke and Buffy, our woofies. Two months after the move, baby Tonka left for the Bridge due to FIP. November Zipper crossed and we knew Nicki would be following him soon. We did not want you to be alone so baby Toy came, then baby Tinker. You had become a wonderful, loving, big brother to them. Later you again nurtured the new babies, Tang, TyGr and Teak and you welcomed our rescued Setzer to the family.

They all had such love and respect for you sweet boy. They still smell your presence here. We miss you..........

All the time you used to hang out in Grammom's room helping her with those silly puzzles..........she cried for you baby.

Christmas is coming.......oh how you loved laying under the tree, looking up at all the sparkle and reflections from the ornaments. Playing with your brothers in the emptied boxes and gift wrappings. You will be with us, our loving memories of you, Luke, OBI, Buffy and all our past furkids, will be in our souls forever.

" My humans have been busy cleaning, fixing up and painting for the last few weeks and now they are going through stuff we only see once a year. Mommy is buying big bags of flour, sugar and sprinkles! Sometimes Mom comes home from shopping and she has these shiny sparkles on her hands, face and jacket. ICE is wearing a new jacket and we are hearing the "SNOW" word!!!! If I see a BIG tree come in I am going to go bonkers because that's the most wonderful time of the year.....at least that is what I hear when Mommy starts decking the walls=^Y^=

Up-date on ICE....he hasn't had another seizure thank God! We are watching him closely while he is getting use to his medicine and he is also on Sam-e to protect his liver. The Boyz will be back....I just needed this time with ICE and have been researching the best way to handle his problem so I can be more informed when he sees his Vet again for more blood work. THANKS to everyone for all your concern, purrz & prayers. From last July to now it has been a very rough road losing OBI and Luke, then ICE having this bad seizure. With having 16 cats and 11 dogs in my life, Ice is the first to have a seizure and it was very scary. The Boyz will be visiting their furends this weekend....thanks again=^Y^=

This morning he had a very bad seizure. We have no reason why but he has spent the whole day with our Vets. When he got up this morning, mom thought he was sick....starting to throw up but it quickly turned scary. He fell to his side and seized. When he came back he began growling, Mom saw his eyes were still gazed. Slowly he realized who Mom was and Mom & Dad rushed him to our Vets. So far all blood test are normal but they are still testing....now for metals since several days ago the farmer dusted the field next to our property plus many other fields in the township. We never smelled anything so bad and the dust was so thick we thought our neighbor's house was on fire. The fields have been manured after mowing and bailing since we have lived here but nothing like this awful garbage, chemical smell before. Our family is very upset not knowing why this has happened to our ICE. We will check back when we know more, Thank you!

All those birds do is tease us by fluttering close to our windows......several times a day! They know darn well that we can't get them through the screen when the window is opened. Mommy loves to play, Sims Pets 2 and I like to watch! She likes building the houses, and designing the interior. Then she has the Sim adult go to town and adopt pets. This funny Gnome appears and gives the Sims tons of money.....funny, we don't have any gnomes out front 'cause those things creep Mommy out!LOL

When our humans are sleeping we have fun playing the Wii!!!

We again had internet and phone connection problems so comcast came out and said it was fixed but our main phone base was bad. Mommy and Dad bought a new phone system and it was hooked up Saturday evening. Mommies SUV came home Friday, she is so happy.
Now they are hoping for an early fall because it has been waaaay to hot and we haven't been able to go out on the deck for some time now. Have a fun Sunday=^Y^=

Ham-Micks & Havock!

Mommy ordered these Ham-Micks from Forty Paws....they came yesterday. It's been way to (((HOT))) outside to enjoy them on our deck so we are lovin' them inside for now. All paws up for these cool ham-micks!!!!!=^Y^=

Ha ha ha....if you look under the ham-icks you can see who needs to go on a diet! We are all eating Wellness canned 2 times a day but Toy sneaks some food from ICE when he can. Actually he is quite muscled up due to all his climbing and running around.

On the HAVOCK side, our Mommy was driving home from shopping when a car went through a stop sign and crashed into the side of her SUV. Mommy said she saw it coming from her side view then hit her gas to try and get out of the way. Mom's SUV skidded and would have went in a ditch but she kept control of the wheel. Ray was also in the car next to Mom and he was in shock that Mom handled it so well. In all the years of her driving she was never in a car accident before. Ray call the police which the the other driver was surprised since no one was hurt but it is a wise thing to do so you are sure the information is correct.

Poor Santa Fe....you got a big ouchy!!!

The back door is curved so it doesn't close all the way at the top or bottom but the steel frame bar was strong and kept Mommy and Ray safe. This is the second Santa Fe for our pawrents........someday they will get a third, it hasn't reached 200,000 miles like the first one yet!!!
Oh, Mom is doing OK, she has had some mild headaches due to the stress but they are almost gone now. The other driver was only 17 years old and it was her mother's car! Some advice to new drivers to be....hire a professional driver to teach you, you will never regret it!!! (Mommies advice there)=^Y^=
